Rocketeer

Back in the day when there were Spitfires flying over head and dodging flags and having races a little boy called Jimmy was playing with his wooden Spitfire in the dirt behind his family barn.

Bob the burglar was in action stealing jewellery from Michael Hill Jeweller. After five minutes of being in the store an alarm went off sending the police straight to the scene. Bob makes a run for it he jumps into his car and floors it down the road making a cloud of smoke trying to hide from the cops. But the cops drove straight through the dust and chased Bob down the road to a barn where little Jimmy was still playing in the dirt, He heard the noise of syrens little did Jimmy know that Bob was coming towards him. All of a sudden Jimmy heard a ‘thud’ he looked around to see the bricks flying towards him, he stood shocked with his draw dropped and his eyes the size of basketballs.

Bob couldn’t see Jimmy he kept his foot planted on the pedal speeding straight for Jimmy. Rocketeer swooped out of nowhere and saved little Jimmy. As the police chase continued into the distance, Rocketeer was Jimmy’s Hero.

Tom Trueheart

Deep in the spooky, snowy forest lived an old wizard everyone knew where he lived he thought he was well hidden in the box under the snowy mountains. When Tom Trueheart the tiniest fighter on earth heard the news that the wizard had captured his six brothers and six wives he was fuming with anger. He started to prepare himself to battle the wizard. Little did Tom know that the wizard had saved them from the meat eating dragon while they were trying to find Tom. Tom found the dungeon and started digging his way into the top layer  where he hears music, Tom sneaks up on the wizard, the wizard turns around to his surprise he saw Tom drawing out his magic sword and they start to battle. All of a sudden the dragon appears from out of nowhere and breathes fire at them. Tom swings has rope up onto the dragon, and taps the dragon with his sword, this freezes the dragon into a black rock. Tom's family came out to see what was going on they saw it was Tom they were finally reunited, they told Tom of their Adventures and how the wizard has saved them. They all lived happily ever after.

The Dragon Slayer

On one stormy day trotting down passed a village Tarragon rode his Noble Steed Black Bull into the Dragons Den. He was geared up to slay some tough Dragons; he had his shield, armour, mediaeval helmet and Razor Sharp sword ready to battle.

When Tarragon got to the Dragon’s cave he could feel his heart pounding through his thick armour. As he got to the cave entrance, he pulled his sword from his left pouch, anticipating A fire-breathing dragon.

At Tarragon’s surprise, he could see the dragons long tail poking out behind the fossilized rock. Before the dragon could burst-flames at Tarragon, Tarragon knew he had to sneak up on the dragon if he had any chance of survival. Tiptoeing upto the dragon, Tarragon jumped onto its back and killed it with one slice. He planted his sword in the ground for victory, and added another notch to his shield.

As Tarragon went to Mount Black Bull he saw flames coming from out of the bushes, He heads over to investigate . “A baby?”

His worst nightmare! A dragon baby. Tarragon tried to ditch the baby but Black Bull wouldn't let him, so he went back to the baby because he felt guilty for killing its mother. He soon realised killing the mother dragon was not a good idea, Tarragon looked at the baby and back at his horse. He flung his shield into the rocks and decided to chuck the baby on his horse to take home.

As they headed off two more babies appeared from out of the bush. He couldn’t believe his eyes, he now had three dragons to train up. Tarragon went from a Dragon Slayer to a Dragon Trainer.

This week I was learning about Mana Vautier who is an astronaut.He became an astronaut when he was 22, he works at Nasa. I found it challenging to get the image and the astronaut suit that I wanted for the task. My digital learning object shows that Mana Vautier is an astronaut. Next time I will research more about him.

Bruce Mclaren

This week I was learning about Bruce Mclaren who races
formula one racing cars. He races at the muriwai race track,
he won tones of championships. Bruce died in a car crash.

I enjoyed reading about him.

I found it challenging to find the right image to fit the car
on a track.

My digital learning object shows Bruce Mclaren driving over
the finish line to win a race.

Next time I would check my capital letters.

Lake Rotoiti

We are learning to describe. I found it easy to use adjectives because I had a lot of things to describe. I found it tricky to start a sentence with a verb because I have never done it before.

Turning up to the lake, I grabbed the fishing rods out of the back of the ute. Running over to the jetty, the lake was glassy and the air was chilly. I felt excited because I was always waiting for this moment. Pulling the silver reel, I flicked the little fish like lure over my head. Then I waited for the hits of the trout with the hope that it was a 10 pounder. Slowly reeling it back in I felt a sudden snag. It was a whole lot of weed. I was gutted. As I pulled the weed off, I cast it back out. 

      

      

Media

Today we are learning about media. We talked about the different types of media we use. I found it easy to find the images using the explore tool and finding ones with a transparent background. I found it tricky to finish on time because I couldn't get my photo right. When I tried to remove the background of my photo it wouldn't take everything out. It would leave pieces of other peoples chromebooks and my desk.

Caged chickens should be banned

How would you feel if you were trapped in a cage all your life ?

First they can't act like real chickens. They also can't jump up on their purchase and play in the dirt. they'll get angry and pick at each other. 

Over 3.2 million egg laying chickens in New Zealand 82% Are caged . 

Most cage hens are big trim those that are not are kept under very low light levels to reduce further picking and cannibalism. 

One battery hen shed May contain and mini as45000 cage hens. Each standard battery Hen has the floor space smaller than an A4 piece of paper.

In December 2005 the government  reteased A new welfare code for layer hens that bans The  standard battery cage kit allows a new kind of battery cage The Colony battery Cage.

I reckon that all chickens should be free range and kept in larger cages Like the ones that protect the chickens From the cats and dogs

Mary MacKillop Was a  Saint.She worked as a Governess Looking after her cousins And teaching them.Mary was beautified By the Roman Catholic Church And was one of the first Australian To be recognised as a Saint. Mary MacKillop was born in January 15th 1842 and died on the 8th of August 1909  her feast dad is the 8th of august

Saint Vincent

We are learning about saints. I choe St Vincent de Paul because he is my house saint. I enjoyed finding out things about him. I found it challenging to put the information into my own words.

Saint Vincent was born in Pouy and the date that he was born on April 24, 1581.  He was a French Catholic priest who dedicated himself to serving the poor. He is venerated as a saint in the Catholic Church and the Anglican Communion. He was canonized in 1737. He was the patron Saint of charitable societies and is known for his compassion for the poor. He is also known for his reform of the clergy.
